Netco Extruded Plastics, Inc. was established in 1937 as the New England Tape Company, supplying products for the military and selected industrial applications. The company was initially called upon to engineer a new product to replace the heavy lead jacketed armor cable used by the U.S. Navy. Netco engineers successfully developed a strong, lightweight cable cover. The lightweight, water tight, flame proof cable cover became the official specified electrical cable standard for the Department of the Navy.
In the late 1940's, the company directed its research and development along with its problem solving and engineering strengths to non-military applications and began developing related cover extrusions that led to products for the telecommunications marketplace. Today, Netco offers a broad line of products including extrusions, profiles, clips, insulators and protective sheaths to meet the demanding requirements of the communications industry.
In 1981 Netco Extruded Plastics was purchased by Brugmann Frisoplast GmbH of Dormund, Germany . Brugmann, a leading producer of window extrusions, provided additional technical and marketing expertise to help Netco expand into additional markets and industries such as medical, safety, and construction.
In 2002 Brügmann and its related thermoplastics resources were organized under Salamande Industrie - Produkte GmbH and Netco Extruded Plastics, Inc. While maintaining its continuity in management, Netco continues to work cooperatively with the Salamander group.
In 2017 the company had a Management Buyout from Brugmann. Operating with the same management team but now Locally Owned as the company was purchased from Brugmann by the management and put under the Umbrella of Xponent Global, Inc. to continue to revitalize the business with further growth and investment into the Medical market segment.
Netco Extruded Plastics, Inc. operates from its headquarters in Hudson, MA developing new applications for its current markets and well positioned to expand into new areas of opportunity.
